Therapy With Results That Last A Lifetime
Michele Frakt is everything you want in a therapist.
First of all, she is knowledgeable and professional. All good therapists have to have that. And she does. But, she has much more. She cares. Now, if folks have never had therapy before, you might think that is a given. It is not a given. Many people, like myself, have had therapy with people who were completely competent, but did not actually care about you as a person. If your therapist does not actually care about you, forget it. Michele Frakt cares. Her demeanor is nice, friendly and caring. She creates a wonderful environment for a therapy session. I highly recommend her.

Unlock the Path to Healing with Innovative, Creative Approaches to Trauma-Informed Therapy
Experience and Expertise in Trauma Recovery
Many of my clients are professionals seeking effective ways to improve their mood, emotions, relationships, and abilities. I provide those solutions.
Childhood trauma, traumatic life events, and societal injustices often keep us from becoming our best selves. Quick "hacks" and self-help techniques fail because trauma must first be processed. If self-help has frustrated you, this may be why. Self-awareness is the path to your best future.
I am both a natural empath and a highly trained therapist. I graduated with honors, and my social work led to my appointment as the first-ever health systems specialist for the New York State Department of Health. Combining empathic insight with science-based therapy, I have helped hundreds of people create a better future.
Seeking therapy distinguishes you as someone dedicated to greater self-awareness. Exploring trauma can feel frightening and disorienting, which is why safety is the foundation of everything we do together. Within a safe, supportive environment, my proven techniques and more than twenty years of experience ensure an enlightening experience that produces real results.
Trauma recovery can be an isolating journey, but with the right support, healing and renewal are within reach. I provide specialized trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals affected by early childhood trauma, societal injustices, and traumatic events such as assault, rape, and the horrors of war, including trauma imposed by authority figures. Two decades of experience across diverse therapeutic settings allow me to create innovative therapy solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.

Every relationship hits rough water; what matters is how you navigate it together. I provide couples counseling and relationship therapy for communication issues, conflict resolution, intimacy challenges, infidelity, and premarital counseling. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and attachment-based therapy, I help couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and deepen emotional connection, including exploring attachment styles, codependency, and family of origin influences that shape how we love.

Feeling deeply is a gift, but without boundaries it can become exhausting. I offer specialized therapy for empaths and highly sensitive persons (HSPs) experiencing emotional overwhelm, anxiety, and the weight of absorbing others' emotions. Together we develop coping strategies for sensory overload, address patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and codependency, and build sustainable self-care and resilience. My approach draws on mindfulness-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and self-compassion practices.
Now is the time for empaths to step into the light. We’ve been ridiculed as “weak,” “sensitive,” “cry babies” for generations. We are not. We are gifted, influential people who can help change the world. You can use all of the techniques in my book immediately.
